Integrating Xero with Clevero

Clevero integrates with Xero to synchronize all the essential information you need to accurately and robustly tie together your sales, delivery and supplier processes with your accounting records.

We offer two pathways for integration:

  • A Standard Integration available within a number of our off-the-shelf modules that will syncronize your Invoices, Bills, Customers [Contacts], Suppliers [Contacts], as well as allow the one-click import of Organisations, Accounts, Currencies, Themes, Tax Rates, Customers, Suppliers and Items for initial setup and periodic refreshing of core data.
  • A Tailored Integration available for your bespoke solution that is set up to match the data structure and flow of your instance. Via our standard connectors, this allows the import and synchronisation of essentially all Xero records including Invoices, Bills, Contacts [Customers/Suppliers], Organisations, Purchase Orders, Order Items, Payments, Credit Notes, Items, Tax Rates, Currencies, Accounts, Tracking Categories, Themes, Timesheets [AU]  and Employees [AU].

Please contact our sales team here, or technical support for further information on which approach will be appropriate for your needs if you have further questions.

Regardless of the integration option you choose, be it Standard or Tailored, it will be necessary to connect your Xero account to your Clevero instance. Let’s look at how this is done.

Step 1:  Navigate to Settings and then Company Settings in the navigation bar.

Step 2:  Navigate to Integrations in the side bar and click Connect to Xero.

Step 3Enter your Xero credentials on the Xero Login Screen, Select your organisation (if you have more than one linked to your account), and finally click Allow Access.

Step 4:  You will then be automatically redirected to the Integrations page within company settings.

Step 5:  You will note that new options are now available in the integrations page, allowing you to Select Your Organisation, Import Organisations, Import Accounts Currencies Tax Rates Themes and Items, Import your Customers and Suppliers, as well as Set Your Default Organisation.

Note:

  • Pressing each of the import buttons performs a one-time import of data, it does not “turn on” auto-synchronisation of this information or similar. This process is just for initial import and data refreshes. Each standard integration or tailored integration will automatically synchronise information depending the use case (please refer to your solution documentation for details).
  • If you change your Xero Organisation or Default Organisation you will need to press Save in order for your changes to take effect.

The following table illustrates the data mapping and flow of information between Clevero and Xero across our standard integrations and connectors.

You will note a 1:1 mapping of the vast major of records available in Xero, however your solution may vary in the following ways:

  • Naming conventions might be slightly different depending the solution, for example “Client” or “Patient” may be used instead of “Customer”
  • For custom solutions it is actually possible to combine multiple records together and perform processing when sending or recieving a payload, for example Order Items and Invoices may live on a single record in Clevero map to multiple records in Xero.

Finally, it is possible to extend our connectors to add additional flows, records and synchronisation approaches to align with your requirements.

To disconnect your Xero account from Clevero complete the following steps:

Step 1:  Navigate to Settings and then Company Settings in the navigation bar.

Step 2:  Navigate to Integrations in the side bar and click Disconnect from Xero. Once complete you will see a notifcation popup displaying “Disconnected Successfully”. Note, it is not necessary to press Save to complete this process.

Yes it is, this is available as a standard connector for tailored integrations.
